Experts to Curb HIV/AIDS Rates
GUATEMALA - Experts from more than 20 Latin American and
Caribbean countries will discuss in
Guatemala ways to bolster programs for
children and youth living with Acquired
Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
The AIDS Action Plan for Central America (PASCAS),
sponsor of the October 8-10 conference, says
the goal is making governments, science and
society sensitive to their special needs.
PASCAS rates in 55,300 the youngsters under
15 suffering the disease throughout Latin
America and just 15 percent are getting
proper treatment.
