Strike At Five State Hospitals Today
Five state hospitals are on strike today,
the hospitals in Ciudad Neilly, Pérez
Zeledón, Liberia, San Carlos and the Chacón
Paud in Dulce Nombre de La Unión in Cartago.
The strike is protest the lack of financial
resources at the medical centres and the
refusal to pay the some of the medical
staff.
In the first three of the above mentioned
hospitals, it is the doctors that are
participating in the protest strike, while
in the remaining two it is the maintenance
staff, gardeners and nurses.
The length of the strike is not yet known,
though it is expected to last at least the
entire day today.
