Panama Parliament For Honduran Zelaya
Panama - The National Assembly of Panama
ratified the backing of Honduran President
Manuel Zelaya to return to his post and for
the restoration of constitutionality in that
country.
In a resolution adopted by the Legislative,
the deputies condemned the expulsion of
Zelaya. The institution considered that the
leader was overthrown arbitrarily and taken
out of his country by a military coup that
altered the democratic order.
Also, the Honduran President's later
deprivation on the part of the Congress was
infringing procedural guarantees, ignoring
its legitimacy.
The Panamanian Parliament also regretted the
interference of the Honduran Army against
democracy and the independence of state
organizations and institutions.
