Bolivia Highlights Cuban Anniversary
La Paz - The celebration
of the 56th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Garrison in eastern Cuban Holguin
province made Bolivian media headlines on
Monday.
State-run Cambio daily reported on the
speech given yesterday by Army Gen. Raul
Castro, before more than 200,000 people at
the Calixto Garcia Square, and his call for
increasing agricultural production in spite
climate harshness and the US blockade, to
replace food imports.
Los Tiempos and El
Deber dailies, Radio Patria Nueva network
and Bolivia TV station devoted slots to the
Cuban mass gathering during which President
Raul Castro said that the people's
monolithic unity is the most powerful weapon
forged in struggle.
They also referred to his recognition of
solidarity gestures of other countries
towards Cuba and the announcement of
upcoming Minister Council meetings, the 7th
Plenary of the Central Committee of the
Communist Party of Cuba and the sessions of
the National Assembly.
