Chavez Defends Transformation in Venezuela
Caracas - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday
highlighted the importance of laws being
passed to transform the country''s reality
for the benefit of the people.
In his Sunday's column "Chavez Lines" the
leader explained that that was the point for
the refoundation of the country in 1999.
That was the same qualitative and increasing
step that allowed Bolivia and Ecuador took
the same path, he wrote.
According to Chavez, it also explains the
Honduras coup, the Honduran oligarchy is
precisely afraid of the refoundation of the
country.
We began the construction of this basically
democratic republic in 1999 and we will
never stop doing it because it is our daily
activity as long as we have homeland, he
remarked.
During a Saturday special session marking
the 10th anniversary of the Constituent
Assembly Chavez said the process has not
finished in Venezuela yet.
It has not concluded yet because it holds
several levels and the higher one is the
Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela approved in 1999.
At this moment the country is in the level
of construction and establishment of this
project aimed at independence, liberty and
equality, he pointed out.
I hope- he said - that before December 15 in
which date we celebrate the 10 years of the
foundation of the Constitution, there would
be not even one antirevolutionary law
The answer does not correspond to me but if
you need reinforcements, "I'm not asking for
it," then empower me again and we will get
progress over here and there.
Chavez asked the Legislative Power to speed
up approve revolutionary laws in all fields
of the national activity to quicken the
transformation process that is taken place
in Venezuela.
We have to finish with old structures of the
bourgeois State and found new ones, that
element is part of the new State map,
emphasized the statesman.
