Laura Way Ahead On The Polls

A recent poll by Borge y Asociados reveals that if the presidential elections were held today, Laura Chinchilla would win hands down, leaving her competition far behind.

The Borge y Asociados poll taken between July 3 and 17, interviewing 1008 people, shows that Chinchilla would receive 46.% of the vote, Ottón Solís of the Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC) would get only 9.5% of the votes and 8.5% for Otto Guevara of the Movimiento Libertario (ML).

Former president, Rafael Ángel Calderón of the Partido Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC) got only a 6.3% vote, while Oscar López del Partido Accesibilidad Sin Exclusión (PASE) with only a 1.5%.

The presidential elections are set for February 7, 2009.
