Navy Seizes 420 kg Cocaine
Bogota - The Colombian
navy said on Friday it seized 420 kg of
cocaine in two speedboats in the Caribbean Uraba gulf.
According to the navy authorities, the two
boats transported 200 kg and 220 kg of
cocaine, respectively. The occupants of the
two boats fled into forest after discovering
the patrol boat.
The drug, worth about 10 million U.S.
dollars on black market, and the two boats
were confiscated by the navy.
The navy is searching for the owner of the
drug, said the navy authorities.
The Colombian government has cracked down on
drug-trafficking in the country. So far this
year, the Colombian navy has seized 63 tons
of cocaine, with a value of approximate
1.575 billion dollars.
