Vehicular Restrictions This Week and Next
The Policía de Tránsito will be focuing on
drinking and driving and spot checks and
will not bother with the revicular
restrictions of San José for this week and
next, the patrols of the downtown streets
resuming on Monday, January 4, 2010.
The objective of the vehicular restriction
is to reduce traffic in the downtown core
and with the year end holidays and all
government offices and agencies, as well as
a number of private businesses closed, there
is not need to monitor the restriction.
Germán Marín, the directo of the Policía de
Tránsito, said his officials will be working
around the clock to keep an eye on traffic
to and from the beaches and resorts, with
emphasis on drinking and driving.
