Argentina Bill to Support Trial vs.
Oppressors
BUENOS AIRES - A bill ratifying the unrestricted support of
the Deputy Chamber to trials against
impunity will put to that body for
consideration on Tuesday by Argentinean
legislator Juan Carlos Dante Gullo.
The text states the unflinching will of
making progresses in its legislative task,
to eradicate impunity of crimes against
humanity perpetrated by terrorism of state
during the last military dictatorship.
Dante Gullo said on a note published online
that the bill ratifies "the unrestricted
support" to trials against impunity, which
enabled reopening the most emblematic cases
against those responsible for the 1976-1983
illegal repression.
Gullo also condemns "those who yearn for a
dishonoring past where daily, massive and
systematic violation of human rights was
currency, and today faced with the
development of justice put impunity at
risk."
The document also criticizes that some
people from the cowardly anonymity that
always characterizes their action "turn to
insignificant methods as to threaten the
President and, with that, the principle of
popular sovereignty that supports her
mandate."
Social and union organizations repudiated on
Monday intimidating actions the stateswoman
was victim and the General Confederation of
Workers warned that way of doing things
surpasses "all limit."
