UN Calls Evo Morales World Defender
La Paz - The United Nations General Assembly
(UN) will award Bolivian President Evo
Morales a medal and a scroll that will
declare him World Defender of the Mother
Earth.
The decoration will be conferred on Saturday
by President of UN General Assembly the
Nicaraguan Miguel D�Escoto who is visiting
the Andean nation.
The awarding ceremony will take place at the
government headquarters Quemado Palace in
this City.
This award recognizes the firm position of
the Bolivian Head of State in defense of the
environment and the Mother Land (Pachamama)
with specific proposals he had presented in
several international forums.
Thanks to his effort the UN established
April 22 as the "International Day of the
Mother Land".
The top leader of this international entity
emphasized that Morales has fully showed his
commitment with the transmission of the
great spiritual and moral values of our
ancestors from Central, South America and
the Caribbean. |
