Destruction Of
Rebel Explosives Cache
Bogota - Half a ton of
explosives hidden by the Colombian National
Liberation Army (ELN) rebels had been
destroyed in the eastern department of
Casanare, Colombian officials said Friday.
The Administrative Department of Security
and the Army of Colombia discovered some 600
detonators and 640 meters of flex in the
municipality Tamara.
More than 550 kg of explosives and
detonating devices were also found in the
three hidden places, said a communiqué.
Experts carried out a controlled destruction
of the explosives.
According to investigations, the location
where the explosives were found had served
as a camp for ELN rebels. |
