Peruvian President, U.S. Legislators Discuss
FTA
Lima - Peruvian President Alan Garcia and
visiting U.S. legislators on Tuesday
discussed ways to implement the free trade
agreement (FTA) the two countries signed
last year.
David Price, president from the U.S.
Committee of the Chamber of Representatives,
said they "discussed the FTA between the
United States and Peru, the steps given to
implement it and the measures to be taken to
continue promoting the development in Peru."
During a press conference, Price said they
also discussed the possibility of promoting
cooperation between the two countries.
According to Price, it is important to have
"mechanisms of representation to allow the
Peruvian government to respond to the
people's demands and needs."
