Bogota - The Bogota 2009 International
Book Fair is ready to reassert its condition
as a cultural promoter by statements of the
organizers, who opened new cultural spaces
in this 22nd edition.
An event started a little bot more than two
years ago as a response to the low indexes
of reading among the inhabitants of Bogota.
Books were distributed and sold or lent in
places at the side of bus stops, and other
places.
The initiative allowed people to take many
of the books home for a week in plazas,
markets and hospitals, among other public
places.
Literary personages such as Jorge Zalamea,
Maruja Viera, Roberto Uribe and Omar Rayo
were and are around the event, exhibting
videos, pabillions, documents, and books. |
