Begins Setting Agenda For OAS
Meeting
Lima - Peru is setting
the agenda for the Organization of American
States (OAS) general assembly it will host
next June in the capital city of Lima,
Foreign Minister Jose Garcia Belaunde said
on Sunday.
He said according to OAS tradition, the host
nation must decide on the main issues of the
meeting and he will not release the key
topics to the media before he has discussed
them with other OAS nations.
He added that foreign ministers of member
countries will participate in the meeting.
Peru organized the fifth Summit of Heads of
State and Government of Latin America, and
the EU-Latin American and Caribbean Summit
in May, as well as the summit of the
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in
November last year.
The nation will also host the third Summit
of Heads of State and Government of South
America-Arab Countries in 2011. |
