Accident Kills At Least 22 In
Panama
Panama - At least 22
people were killed and 18 others injured
when two vehicles crashed on Thursday night
near Pacora, a town in east Panama,
according to local reports.
The accident occurred at 10:45 p.m. local
time (GMT 0345) when a tipper truck crashed
into an oncoming passenger bus, local
television Telemetro reported.
"It's the most serious traffic accident in
our country," said Arturo Alvarado, director
of National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc).
Witnesses said the accident might have been
caused by darkness on the road and the speed
of the truck.
An investigation will be launched, police
