Honduran
Delegation Travels To
Washington To Define OAS Commission
Tegucigalpa - The
Honduran interim government said Thursday it
has sent a delegation to Washington to
"agree the composition of the foreign
ministers' mission" to be sent by the
Organization of American States (OAS) to
Honduras.
The Honduran interim foreign ministry said
in a communique that up to the moment,
neither the composition of the mission nor
the date of its arrival have been agreed.
"Any information issued by other means,
national or international to the moment
regarding to it, is refused as non
official," the communique said.
The OAS mission had been scheduled to arrive
last Tuesday, but the coup government
rejected the visit and demanded OAS
secretary general Jose Miguel Insulza not to
be part of it.
The interim government later changed its
mind but only accept Insulza as an observer.
The communique said the Honduran delegation
will also work on the agenda of the Inter
American Commission of Human Rights, which
will visit Honduras Monday at the invitation
of the interim government. |
