Gasoline Prices Take A Small Dip, Diesel Up
Gasoline in Costa Rica is a little cheaper
today, with the latest price reduction
taking effect, while the cost of diesel went
up.
This morning the cost of a litre of super
gasoline at the pumps is ¢570 colones, while
regular is ¢551, a drop of ¢3 and ¢2
colones, respectively, while the cost of a
litre of jumped ¢10 colones, setting the
price at ¢462.
The price of gasoline in Costa Rica is
established by the Autoridad Reguladora de
los Servicios Públicos (ARESEP) following a
request by the Refinadora Costarricense de
Petroleo (RECOPE) - state refinery - based
on the price of crude oil on international
markets.
The formula for the price of gasoline is
modified in the first weeks of each month
and takes effect by the middle of the
following month.
All gasoline stations in the country buy
their gasoline from RECOPE, which is sold at
the same price on a nation wide basis. |
