OAS Mission in Honduras to Fail
Tegucigalpa - The next OAS mission in
Honduras will lack possibilities of solving
diplomatic negotiations to settle the crisis
created here after the coup d''Etat, Tiempo
newspaper reported Saturday.
The arrival of the delegation comprised of
foreign ministers from Argentina, Mexico,
Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, and
Jamaica, led by Jose Miguel Insulza, general
secretary of that regional entity, is slated
for Tuesday.
The aim of the mission is "to restore of the
constitutional order," a release from the
institution stressed.
Putschists denied accepting President Manuel
Zelaya's reinstatement in the nation, which
is definitely discarded, illegal statesman
Roberto Micheletti stated.
Micheletti, alluding the OAS, said on a news
conference at the Government House that
"nobody will come here to give order."
The de facto government rejected the
participation of foreign ministers and
former foreign ministers from the Bolivarian
Alliance of Our America (ALBA)'s member
countries, for considering this "is a part
of the problem," the daily stated.
The de facto executive uses funds from
Petrocaribe, one of the ALBA solidarity
mechanisms, and the Honduras-Petrocaribe
agreement and the Honduras-ALBA Declaration
have not been ignored or denounced by the
regime created after the June 28 military
coup.
The labor solidarity with the resistance
against the coup d'Etat is rapidly expanding
in our continent and worldwide, while the
national march against the coup continues in
Honduras, the publication noted. |
