Rain And Cold Weather Forecast For the Weekend

Better keep the umbrella and a sweater handy as the next few days will be wet and cold in the Central Valley.

The Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) - national weather service - says that the low pressure system that has been responsible for rain in most of the country will be around for a couple of days longer.

Metereologist Max Mena explained that the Northern Zone and Limón will feel the brunt of the low pressure system and residents close to rivers and creeks should be careful as the heavy rain will mean higher water levels, especially in low lying areas like Telire and Matina.

Mena says that the rain will not be as heavy in the Central Valley, but the clouds will linger and with it lower temperatures.

Temperaturs Thursday night were about 2 degrees Celsius lower than normal.
