Rejects Aid Request By
Interim Honduran Government
Managua - The Nicaraguan
government rejected on Tuesday a request of
the interim Honduran government on personnel
aid to the country's special education.
The post-coup regime has asked that a
Nicaraguan expert be sent to Honduras to
give lectures, said Nicaraguan Education
Minister Miguel de Castilla.
De Castilla said Nicaragua has rejected the
request because its government only
recognizes Manuel Zelaya's government.
It may be an international strategy of the
Honduran coup-mongers to break the
humanitarian enclosure as their government
is not recognized, de Castilla said.
De Castilla said Nicaragua will report the
case to relevant regional groups, and called
for alert on the move.
Zelaya was seized from his bed and sent to
Costa Rica in a military coup on June 28,
just hours before a scheduled referendum on
possible constitutional amendment.
The coup has been widely condemned by the
international community, and countries and
groups in the region are actively working
for a peaceful solution to the political
crisis.
