Residents Without Water Today
Some 98.000 residents of Mora, Santa Ana,
Alajuelita, Desamparados, Ciudad Colón,
Piedades, Río Oro, San Marcos, Lindora,
Forum, Pozos, San Felipe, San Josecito,
Concepción y San Rafael Abajo de
Desamparados, Bello Horizonte, San Antonio
and Bebedero in Escazú. will be without
water today from 8am to 5pm, according to
the Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AyA) -
water utility.
The problem is that the Compañía Nacional de
Fuerza y Luz (CNFL) - electricity utility -
will be cutting power to various areas that
affect the AyA pumps to deliver water.
"Without electricity, the water pumping
stations can't operate and water pressure
cannot be maintained", said Guillermo Arce,
general manager of the AyA.
