Prepare For
More Traffic Congestion
The problem with the Virilla bridge repair
has many drivers up in arms as daily
congestion on the autopista General Cañas
grows. However, next week, there will be
even more congestion on the roads of San
José, with the closure of an important
downtown route.
Beginning Monday, August 10, Avenida 3 or
Paseo de las Damas, between the estación del
Ferrocarril al Atlántico and the Parque
Morzan will be completely closed for the
next four months.
The closure is to replace the existing road
surface with a new concrete slab.
Drivers will have to use the route from the
old Cine California to the Parque España as
an alternate.
The closure will also affect the large
number of buses and their stops to be
relocated along the Avenida. The start of
the Heredia - San José commuter train
service on August 10 will add to the
congestion. |
