Gasoline Tax Increases Price at
Pumps
The government has decreed an
increase of ¢2.5 colones in the
price of a litre of super
gasoline, ¢2.25 colones for a
litre of regular and ¢1.25 for
diesel.
The increase is a tri-mestral
tax on fuel based on the
inflation index.
With the decree the tax on
gasoline will now be ¢150.25 for
a litre of super, ¢143.75 for
regular and ¢84.5 for diesel.
The price adjustment will be
made by the Autoridad Reguladora
de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep)
- the regulator of public prices
and services - which will set
the new price for gasoline at
¢501.50 for a litre of super,
¢471.25 for regular and ¢343.25
for diesel.
