Longtime Costa Rica Resident Pat
Dunn Murdered in Manta, Ecuador

Pat William Dunn, 22 year
resident and citizen of Costa
Rica, was murdered in Manta,
Ecuador.
During the time Pat lived here
he established a string of
successful businesses. Nashville
South was his original venture.
Together with Key Largo and
Tiny’s it was one of the gringo
hang outs in the late 1980s. A
few years later he founded Happy
Days Bar which prospered for
several years before it was
sold.
Pat also ran the New York Bar
when it was in its old location
and The Piano Blanco Bar across
from the Hotel Presidente on
Avenida Central.
Pat together with the late
Hayden Hurley co-founded the
Dunn Inn in Barrio Amon. He
spent the last few years in
Manta, Ecuador where he operated
Nashville South Manta Beach
and had recently opened, with
his wife, the Posada Amon,
only block south of the Dunn
Inn.
Pat will be remembered as an
energetic entrepreneur and
pioneer in the local gringo bar
business.
Most of all he will be
remembered as a friend with a
huge heart who was always glad
to extend a helping hand to
those in need.
We will miss him dearly.
