Porteadores Suspend
Protest. For Now.
The porteadores (informal taxis) have called
off their protest for today, Friday. The
group has said it will wait the announcement
of the government that has promised them an
answer by next Wednesday.

added support of the law against sexual
harassment at work or at school, as
legislators approved in second and final
debate reforms to the law, "Ley Contra El
Hostigamiento Sexual".
UAE and Costa Rica
Establish Diplomatic Relations
The United Arab
Emirates and the Republic of Costa Rica have
established diplomatic relations on
ambassador level. Both countries signed a
joint communiqué on Thursday at the UN
headquarters establishing the diplomatic
relations.

Using The Internet For Defamation Of
Character
To prevent the spread of digital defamation
in Costa Rica, the daily La Republica in its
report of March 11, 2010, suggests the
Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (Sutel)
be more proactive in the use of the interent
in Costa Rica and one solution is to require
all users of internet cafés to provide their
"cedula" (identification).
