Refinery Contract
Costa Rica is preparing its
offer for the bid to be the
chosen for the Mesoamérica
refinery, said the Ministro de
Ambiente y Energía (MINAE) -
Environment and Energy Minister
- Roberto Dobles.

Arias Promises Municipalities
More Money Through Taxation
Shortly following the
inauguration of the XII Asamblea
de Unión de Ciudades Capitales
de Iberoamérica (UCCI), Costa
Rican president, Óscar Arias
Sánchez, assured that his
government plans to generate
more money for the
municipalities by forcing owners
of property to declare the real
value of their property and pay
the corresponding tax.
Honduras Closes
Border to Costa Rican
Chickens
As Guatemala and El Salvador,
Honduras has now closed its
borders to importation of
chickens from Costa Rica, where
avian flu has been reported, the
Honduran government announced
Thursday.
