About 120 "campesinos" from the Finca Bambuzal have occupied the halls of La Catedral in downtown San José have decided that tomorrow they will head for home in Sarapiquí. The Finca Bambuzal is currently occupied by the Standard Fruit Company, which claims to own the lands and that the farmers have no right to be there. Notwithstanding, the farmers have decided to "peacefully" attempt to re-occupy "their" lands.

Cuba to discuss new US anti-Cuba measures The new session of the Cuban parliament on Thursday is scheduled to discuss the newly applied measures by the US government against Cuba.  Colombian Government, guerrillas open peace talks The Colombian government and the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) started peace talks in a safe haven in Santafe de Ralito, Cordoba state, in the north of the country Thursday afternoon. Questions remain over Honduras sightings of 'next Mohammed Atta' In a rapidly growing story, Honduran officials report that one of the top terrorist suspects in the world, Adnan G. Shukrijumah, was spotted in Honduras recently. Readers might want to reserve judgment, however, taking the reports with a grain of warm Honduran sand, since contradictions have become apparent. It's unclear whether the problematic elements to the story stem from inaccurate statements made by government officials, from inaccurate reporting of those statements, from a lack of forthcoming detail, from poor communications between international allies or a combination of these.
