Larry I have had my car broken into south of Cahuita. My friend was assaulted near there. Robert C. who lived there had home invasion by 3 with assault rifles and begged for his life. So yeah real safe .. You must be blessed.

I’ve been there many times with no problems but found the west coast extremely dangerous, horribly expensive and the only place I ever had anything stolen. Perhaps your problem is that you’re dealing with the wrong people, considering you know all about the drug prices there.

It’s amazing how many filthy, tattooed, trash American, Canadian, and European women crawl the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica looking for the biggest piece of black salami they can find. Why any American visits that side of the country is really puzzling. The native Rastas are really aggressive and quite frightening. Not to mention that they will try to sell you $5 worth of weed for $100. If you go to Puerto Viejo, you are tempting fate. Good luck.
