Only more time will tell, but I am not optimistic. The canal company might be better off with some cargos like liquefied natural gas to rent capacity on a trans Panama pipeline to at least let the LNG tankers offload some of their cargo to a ship in the ocean on the other side of Panama to lighten the cargo weight.
