YES, this is true about the SO CALLED intrest section and in Washington. I have been to Cuba about 25 times since 1995. I have been in the so called US interest section that we paid over $25 million to build in Cuba and ship over the furniture. IT is legal to go now if you meet one of the 12 accepted regulations. We just went last week to meet with some of the Marinas and Commodore Eschrich of the Marina Hemingway Yacht Club for environmental awareness. http://www.SeaTowCuba.

Did you (anyone) know that since 1977 the U.S. HAS had a presence in Cuba called the “United States Interests Section” which is made up of United States Foreign Service personnel (you know – the people that make up an embassy) and local staff employed by the US Department of State that basically function as a de facto embassy and to represent US interests in Cuba?? I just learned that recently from someone that was one of these people there. So much for having cut off everything with Cuba all these years as I assumed is what had happened. Hmmmm.
