The cops did a more heinous act in my view. At least the animals were being fed and were alive. And as for Costa Rica being a more free place to live than USA? It’s so restrictive here that people lost their licenses for consuming alcohol? Man CR is WAY worse than I originally believed–WAY more restrictive–Way more tight on controls , and the really sad part is that the law/lawyers are so corrupt that it is a dangerous place to be caught –well just being caught by the corrupt police or lawyers or system in general—bad for you Gringo–they will take everything they can from you–after all-YOU are in Their backyard now. They used to stop us Gringos at every opportunity to get a payoff. One time I just refused to pay off a traffic cop and he looked really puzzled as he stated the cost of paying the ticket—I just repeated–give me the multa— it was about $400 for having tinted windows—what a scam—I gave it to my lawyer and never heard from them again–my lawyer has the same car and the same factory tint ( Mercedes) Finally some Gringos in Grecia got together and had OIJ set a trap and caught the crooked cops who were taking Gringo’s license plates for parking here or there—but the cops who were arrested were back out there giving tickets soon after being arrested. So sad to live in CR–God Bless USA where the law sticks and is fair and just-and much better than CR in every way.
