The facts on Costa Rica are things are getting very bad and no Costa Ricans wants to talk about it. The current goverment is scared to start saying the truth about the last goverment and all the money that was stolen. The cost of visiting and living in Costa Rica have gone up so much that most Costa Rican are going back to the basics. Tourism is going down big time because of the world cup and now most travellers are looking at other countries to travel to. Lots of resorts and hotels are laying off staff and now farmers are having a hard time getting paid by association. Walk around San Jose and see all the for rent sighns just in a two block area i counted 45 for rent sighn and empty spaces. Sorry everyone Costa Rica is changing and things are going to get worse before they get better. Also stores like Automercado are layiing off staff and even Walmart is laying staff off. Austerity is not happening its now a country on the brink of disaster .

Now they want to control our currency.If you are broke living week to week you will have no problems. If you have money in the bank you will have to fight to keep it or barter and steal for a living.

So all we have to be happy about is a soccer game. Gasoline is almost $6 per gallon or will be soon. Corp. taxes, exit taxes, etc. etc. have not helped one bit. The school on our road is still a piece of shit, the teacher never comes cause she has a job in another city. Her husband is a criminal who came and loaded up all the new building materials for the school and took them to his farm. Chief of Police in nearby city is busy cutting down and hauling and selling trees on endangered list. Huge marijuana plantations up above us in the hills, locals calling cops complaining while the cops tell the growers to hurry up and get it harvested before there is more trouble. Pura Vida
