Cosatarricense here have no problem paying them this salary, plus a $78,000 value SUV plus gasoline card not to mention the endless lunches, dinner and expensive wine on the governments dime. They diputados /lawmakers it all about enhancing their future, Their earnings and lifetime pensions. So on with more taxation and a half percent raise for the common workers Right, PLN party, lady Laura, Johnny Araya ??

If the legislators don’t lead by example, how do they expect other government workers not to demand raises the legislators give themselves? If the policy is to put a lid on public sector wage increases, then the legislators should freeze their own salaries first.
