Producing hydrogen is easy - for example, any child can get a battery, make some electrodes from metal wire and pencil graphite and stick them into a beaker of tap water. The issue is doing it economically so that it doesn't cost more to make it than it is worth. The other issue is with safety. I do not believe that hydrogen is a safe fuel. Clean, definitely, but the activation energy for its combustion is too low. Whilst it wasn't so much using it as a fuel per se, the Hindenburg disaster comes to mind here. The method sounds useful for making cheap hydrogen but, personally, I'd look to the wind, tidal forces or conventional solar power for safe, cheap and clean sources of energy. By the way - should stress that I am a biologist and not a chemist/physicist, so it is altogether possible that my opinions are flawed in some way.

I’m not sure I agree with you.
