my understanding is that in most european countries abortions are not allowed after 12 to 14 weeks of pregnancy

A woman has the right to have an abortion , if any one, group, church or goverment interferes , they shoud be shot. This simply will reduce fools and future problems

Well, I was aware of this and to my mind it is an important issue that is for the most part well-covered in this article. However, I recoil over the thesis that Latin America is old-fashioned and outdated. The implication is that there is a global trend toward social progress that includes abortion rights. I doubt the existence of any trend toward global progress, much less one tied to abortion rights, and don’t even think the history of abortion laws substantiates this trend. Then, even if such a trend existed, I’m not sure that moral and legal decisions should be made on the basis of what’s trendy. For goodness sakes, consider Germany–certainly an advanced country but also one with probably one of the more moral abortion laws. (Abortion is seriously restricted in Germany, but also permitted in the kinds of instances mentioned in this article.) I just wouldn’t use the bandwagon argument when discussing this issue, but would urge a focus on the facts and the moral questions instead.

abortions to save the life of the mother are about.ooooo1%. the vast majority of abortions are simply murder. latin america has this one right. do not copy the USA and create another holocaust of murdering babies

Thanks for the article. I was totally unaware of this. What confuses me though is why are the Powers That Be preventing these needed abortions when at the same time they are doing things to exterminate humans like giving copious vaccines with sterilization drugs in them to poor countries (documented), and state that the population needs to be lowered? Is it just more control by the rulers & politicians going in both directions?
