I know Alcides as mild mannered and honorable. This incident reminds of Kimberley Blackwell who was murdered under similar circumstances while protecting wildlife on her finca and adjacent Corcovado National Park not to many miles away. To not have his denuncia accepted by Luis Vega is not a surprise. Vega also boggled the Blackwell case in a similar manner by not allowing the OIJ to collect evidence in a timely manner.

With reference to the environmentalist who was shot at in the Osa, he should get himself a gun and shoot a dog or two. Unfortunate for the dogs but expensive for the hunters. The fact that they shot at the poor man meant that they were aware he had no self defense. These types are cowards, let them know you too have a gun, and they’ll go away.
