Puerto Viejo de Talamanca gets a bad rap to start with. These cartels are coming through the pacific side this really needs to be realized by all. I moved to Purto Viejo about 1 month ago very leery and cautious because of all the &quot;bad stories&quot;, the people here have been nothing but amazing and helpful. Yes, there are a few less fortunate people but even they do not harass anyone. I do wish for all travelers to come down to PV but be smart, you would not walk downtown Jamaica  with gaudy gold or silver jewelry don&#039;t do that here. The area has a lot to offer from the Coco fields to the snorkeling/scuba diving, there are kayak trips, as well as Bocas del Toro is just across the Panamanian border.]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not sure the title is fair&#8230;.
