In addition to the “government” releases (which are actually several different agencies) we are on the press list and get releases from several different government agencies, from emergency authorities, Casa Presidencial, OIJ, IMN (weather), several NGOs, the US Embassy, PCD and other drug control agencies, concert and event promotors, health authorities, CCSS, the list goes on. These are the same releases that every other news source in the country gets – spanish or english – hence the similarities in many of the stories. Internet news is so fast now that if anything, ICR and most other media sites in CR are guilty of being lazy and taking too much content and quotes from the releases themselves.
