Count me among the 60% expecting Araya to sail to victory, but in the political analysis department, I wonder if he might have consolidated his lead too early. Now the opposition has a clear shot and plenty of time to come together and aim. Granted, it doesn’t look like the fragmented opposition will come together, but if I had been advising Araya I would have urged him to cut a deal with Rodrigo Arias that involved him remaining in the primary race. Instead, it looks like he cut a deal to get Rodrigo to drop out (although I’m just guessing). Being the early frontrunner can just be a real liability for a politician, I think.

any other candidate will just be further left. here you have left, lefter and communist as the only viable candidates. 100% of ticos believe in santa claus economics. not much different than the USA and the odumbocons. regalame! otros paga!!!!

He was delayed by lady Laura she has turned out to be a champion too many of the Costarricenses here. Now he next in line all from the same political party PLN. PLN has shown their true colors over the years. GEEZ!

I guess 60% of the people here are used to getting shat upon. This guy is cut from the same cloth as the current president. Well, At least we know what we have to look forward to.
