CPI inflation is a political construct about a basket of goods that are unlikely to be what an individual uses, hence your C100,000 colone example is wrong, almost no one will pay C4550 more because almost no one uses the goods in the proportion used to derive the phony CPI number. a simple addition before the word inflation of CPI, and an explanation as to what goods constitute the measure could be added with very little extra verbiage and make a useless inaccurate article one that contains usable info. since gasoline, food, utilities and taxes are the majority of what people use their money for people can see the relevance, or lack of, the CPI basket. next define classic inflation, go to the net to see M1 money supply, note it&#039;s doubling in two years, note how the colone band is pegged to dollar range value,  and lose a lot of sleep. you might wish to contemplate what results in a high inflation era when consumer prices do not rise as quickly because governments various suck up the excess currency to fuel debt.]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ICR, inflation and CPI inflation are two different terms with two different definitions. just because others are confused and mix the terms does not mean you have to.
