It’s a cultural event as you say. I’d hate to think that placing judgement on others is a cultural trait of North Americans, but it seems that there are plenty of us who have opinions about what everyone else is doing. Go to your own country and try taking an objective look at some of your own cultural practices. We do plenty of things others may deem as ridiculous.

Once again, a gringo tries to tell Costa Rica how to run their country. Participants in this activity are NOT injuring the animal. However, if one were to make a guess… the people who get into the ring with these monster animals are pretty well shit-faced drunk. I say continue the sport but gibe a breathalizer test to ANYONE entering the ring. Keep the drunks out because they are usually the ones who get hurt or killed.

i love it, so do millions of others. however unlike you i do not want to impose my views on others. if i were like you i would demand you get in the ring and run for your life. if you do not like it, do not attend. most of the country thinks the the bull ring fun is the reason to go to fiestas. certainly it is not the food or Karaoke.
