Costa Rica should build a $2000 demo solar to warm water to tornado to electricity system, to see how simple they are to make. Roughly 9 kW of electricity can be made, continuously. I could provide a web-page with all the info, for free.

I am getting a full grid-tied system (which could be battery) for $23,000 and I have big house, guest house, swimming pool, water well pump and electrical appliances. Not sure where you live or are getting your bids?

It would be nice if CR could find a way to supply QUALITY solar panels at a price a family could afford. We’ve been quoted close to $150,000 to supply and install panels on our house so we could be “off the grid”–a price well outside our ability to pay and can hardly be justified over the life of present units. Economists have now declared that it is necessary to provide AFFORDABLE energy but that it should be based on saving money, not the planet (which of course, goes against die-hard environmentalists). IMO, I believe a compromise is possible if one side or the other does not remain rigid in their ideology. (Of course the UN won’t like this one bit — Agenda 21 HAS TO BE the law of the world.)
