i politely ask you to google M1 usa money supply and see that it has DOUBLED in the last 2 years. relative currency values hide the overall weakness that is purposefully being done to the dollar. costa rica is simply trying to push their export ability by opening the trading band upwards. net effect, takes more colones to buy things here in costa rica but easier to sell exports.

upward movement in the dollar in the coming year is extremely unliikely.. The “markets’ are manipulated… but there are some ‘truths’ which cannot be disputed.. we’ll be lucky to see the $ stay near the 500 level… very lucky.

Yeah! And it is going to keep going up! That is why the financial district of New York takes up a third of Manhattan, Costa Ricas “Bolsa de Valores” takes up a ratty building in the forum. Valores? Colones are kinda like Disney Dollars, they aren’t worth anything, unless you are in Disneyland.

It is the Dollar, The undisputed international standard. It has been undervalued for too long, and worth well over 600 colones a dollar. The markets will correct themselves in the coming year.
