Spend some time in a Caja hospital and tell us how many you see sitting around doing their nails. Even if your caricature of Caja employees were correct, which it isn’t, you essentially argue that two wrongs make a right. But if people don’t pay and others don’t work, everybody may feel smugly righteous, but then nobody who gets sick will be treated.

The truth is that the Caja is the ultimate in being inefficient and many persons believe the services they offer are a farce. Three, four, five years of waiting for an operation that should be done within like two weeks or so… contaminated medicines coming from China… medicines past their expiration dates… routine under-dosed prescriptions for antibiotics, or better yet only acetaminophens to relieve discomfort, and physicians lacking in knowledge and experience, total disorganization — the list goes on.

You hate to see businesses shut down for nonpayment, since that makes it harder for them to pay what they owe, but it is long past time to get tough on these delinquencies (that often morph into outright thefts). Complain all you want about taxes, social democracies, and blah blah, but the reality is that failure to pay CCSS taxes is stealing from sick and old people. This is the lowest of the low.

To quote the great thinker and promoter of liberty Thomas Sowell “It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication and a government bureaucracy to administer it.” The truth is that if you put the government in charge of healthcare, it is only a matter of time before there’s a shortage of good health. Same can be said of education, with a shortage of intelligence.

no amount of collection, no type of taxation will ever be sufficient to pay for the caja and myriad of social programs. every year forever social democracy spends more than it can ever collect. just a simple fact. all social democracies run at a negative every year. social democracy requires self destruction. the end game is always going to be the same.
