We bought the million dollar home, pay the property and corporate taxes.  We have financed and cleaned the beaches, paid the extortion import duty on shipped vehicles, household goods.  And financially support our local community schools, animal rescue and charity organizations.   Yet, we still have to pay the excessive legal residence fees, and endure the bureaucratic hassles.  Travel to San Jose, and wait and wait!   Panama is starting to look good, it provides financial incentives for expats to relocate, and discounts while in country.
