interesting am costa rica published that all victims were nicas not ticos. in the past IC has been shoddy on facts and horrible editorial BS, and am C R was more reliable but has even worse editorial with the jo stuart. the new guy here claims to do a better job. guess we will find out. don’t bother responding with what you think, or what you say are supporting facts. we can find that on our own from the tico mainstream press. it just goes to show that the english publications need to be taken with a grain of salt and they both should stay out of the editorial business.

“Si, Dios Quiere”… Mother will be seen as a victim,Therefore no charges. A funeral will be played out and the news channels will cover this and the crying mother. Sad in so many ways.

If this had happened in North America, the parents would have been charged with at the very least, child endangerment. Now, while the report states “panic” and “distress”, is that enough for a life lost?

Deaths that could have been prevented. Where are the brains of the adults who don’t see fit to protect the safety of their children with, at minimum, life vests. Did the fishing boat have a “man” on board or just mothers and their children? There is a strong maternal response that usually overrides self for the life of a child. I guess that never kicked in or there is more to the story here. Please parents–you brought them into this world; don’t put them at risk for lack of a safety vest. And if you haven’t taken the effort to teach to be swimmers, don’t venture out in unsafe waters. May these young beings find peace and security in the hereafter.
