Gordon, obviously I am happy w/my life in Costa Rica because I find very little to be negative about here. And paying an electric bill that is 1/5 of what I paid in the states pleases me.

Mary, Here in CR we pay a high per KWH than most places. And the hydro power plant. This is a mismanagement of not having insured a hydro plant that was ruined by a flood millions lost. Also their cellphone service got COMPETITION and loss money. Every 3 or 4 months they ICE adds another increase. So for you fine for those making 400 bucks a month it hurts bargain or not! The top CEO’s are making north 7 million a year..

The way I figure it, I am going to pay $2.00 more each month for electricity. That’s a bargain!

Why would anyone think these rate increases are not justified. You had rate increases where you lived before. Did anyone tell you that your costs in CR would not increase in future years? Grin and bear it rate increases are a fact of life wherever you live!

Every time there is an increase in the rate , the pay and bounces of the top 100 people at ICE should go down the same amount.

Lol lessons on how the rich stay rich…raise your rates on your monopolized conglomerate and let the people choose whether or not they can or want to live without proper utilities…then wonder why people turn to thievery and prostitution to make ends meat or feed their children…Im not justifying either but whatever happened to the days when CR’s third most natural resource (electricity) was a little more than given freely…oh wait, that’s right..rich gotta stay rich…silly me, I almost forgot that..

The cost of “going green”. Does the phrase “electricity costs would necessarily skyrocket” ring a bell. May be a different country but the same policies.

Poorly mismanaged companies here. This one like a bully. Top CEO’S making millions a year and their under management making thousands a month. Still get their “‘bonuses and performance bonuses”. They have lost millions now crying poor mouth. ICE see’s the Costarricenses here as their personal piggy bank. Bend over this is just the way it is here.
