I got a ticket and tried to pay immediately. Banks (where you must pay) said my ticket wasn’t in the system yet. It didn’t become payable for 6 more weeks!

I wonder whether a disputed ticket is still a border-stopper. I have one lingering in legal limbo–i.e., waiting for a traffic court date to be set (which I hear can take a year or more)–but it sure seems like I’m assumed to be guilty. I can’t sell the vehicle or renew the marchamo without paying the ticket first, even though I haven’t been found guilty (and actually the ticket was issued without my being present or even aware of it for weeks). Now, is the law going to collect from me at the airport? And how could they do that, since I can’t pay the ticket without first going to court and changing my plea to guilty? These legislators pass way too many laws without thinking through them first.

Pretty sure this won’t be implemented or pass any court review, as everyone has the right to dispute a ticket.

You get a ticket on Thursday, Friday a holiday plus weekend. So you leave on Sunday. I would bet it not in the system and I guess now when they catch you at the border you just pay the ticket then. What about the appeals process.. Going to continue make the Transito very happy indeed.

lol good for some, hostage situation for others…knew this would happen though when I read about the new law not too long ago..didn’t seem quite as effective…all these new laws are making my head spin…Im hoping to move back to CR soon, and with the constant changing laws on a weekly basis…the whole decision is starting to look a bit grim..
