My bet if a Diputado or minister house will have a road a nice paved road. Corruption at it’s finest.

Corruption? Ya think! Check out Langosta and Tamarindo. Langosta is probably one of the highest tax bases in the country and they still have to drive a dirt road that looks like a moonscape. Plenty of paving and repaving going on in Santa Cruz but the road to Tamarindo remains dirt only a few miles outside of Santa Cruz. The fight to get these roads paved has been going on for decades and still nothing is done. This is a very popular tourist destination. What does the government think these people are saying when they go home? Or do they even care?

Good Government is all about checks and balances. Since when can you just trust people with millions of dollars? If the government allocates that much money to improving roads, reduce the amount by enough that you can afford to send people out to check that it’s actually being done. Seems like a pretty simple concept to me.

What we need is a total investigation of the President down to the Janitor!
Each one found guilty fined $20,000 and 5yrs very hard labor working on roads.

The private road building companies charged with the repair of public roads in Costa Rica have been cheating for years. In many cases a skim-coat of asphalt is applied to repair a road surface where a depth of 4 to 6 inches would be called for. In many cases the asphalt is applied directly to the underlying dirt, rather than providing a gravel base and proper drainage.

By Christmas, all the money will have been spent… on the roads. Let’s hope the delay in repairs are because of the rainy season.
