Lest we forget about the $7 tax for Wildlife that will also be added to your Marchamo. There is little (if anything) that driving a vehicle causes damage to wildlife so why affect a tax there? The government has to relate cause to effect and tax accordingly. What about the effect of motorcycles on the rate of vehicular accidents? If they cause disproportionately more, shouldn’t they pay more? Now $7 may not seem like a back-breaker (but it is tied to base salary, so inflationary), but $7 here, $1 additional for exiting the country, new taxes on variety of grocery items and ALSO a new electricity increase of 5% on Corporations (Many expats hold their property/utilities in Corps. for protection). Annual Corporation Taxes as well. This gov’t has gone tax crazy!

Wait, I’m betting the insurance portion of Marchamo (remember a BIG part of it is also personal property tax) is more than $25 (about what INS needs to cover what it spent).

So, our car insurance rate with Mapfre went up 6,000 a month, now the marchamo will go up. Makes no sense. Stupid me, wanting stuff to make sense. Where do we picket and march, I’m there! And who are these people getting free coverage and medical care and such? We should not be footing their bill.
